Can You Supply a Bespoke Building to My Exact Specifications?
We can design and construct a garden building to virtually any customer specification, and bespoke requests are extremely common.
What Guarantee Do You Give?
As a reputable company, we stand by the quality of all the garden buildings we manufacture and install. We provide a 10 Year Guarantee against structural defects as standard.
How Close Can a Garden Building Be to My Boundary?
To comply with permitted development guidelines: Buildings up to 15m² internal floor area: minimum 0.5m from any boundary. Buildings over 15m² and up to 30m²: minimum 1.0m from any boundary.
How Should I Prepare My Site Area?
Please ensure the site is clear of obstacles such as rocks, trees, shrubs, sheds and debris. A level soil or grass area is ideal. We can build on a flat or gently sloping site, and our surveyor will advise if any levelling is required.
What Parking and Access Do You Require?
We require parking for at least one large van and clear access to the installation area. Access may be via a side path, gate, garage or through the house as long as there are no tight 90-degree turns. Many components are 2m–4m long and cannot bend.
What Space Do You Require Around the Garden Building?
We require a minimum of 0.5m clearance around all sides of the building for on-site construction. This includes space between the building and any fence, wall, garage or tree.
What Foundations Do You Use?
We use a concrete and steel pile foundation system that adjusts to flat or gently sloping ground. The building is raised for ventilation to prevent damp. We can also install on an existing concrete base if it is sound, crack-free and at least 100mm thick.
Will Weeds Grow Under the Garden Room?
The underside receives no daylight, preventing weed growth. For building installed on soil or lawn, we recommend a gravel or mulch channel around the perimeter to stop weeds forming along the outer edges.
What Are Your Lead Times?
Typically 3–4 weeks from order to installation. Lead times vary - shorter in winter and longer in spring, summer and autumn.
Does the External Composite Cladding Need Treatment?
Our external composite cladding requires no painting, staining or sealing and remains zero maintenance for decades.
Does the External Timber Cladding Need Treatment?
Building with external timber cladding can be left untreated but will eventually turn to a silvery grey colour over time. Western Red Cedar can be treated with a cedar ot teak oil to retain the colour. Thermowood can be stained or even painted to retain or change its colour.
Are the Doors and Windows Secure?
All doors and windows feature high-security mechanisms, including steel-reinforced multi-point locking systems. Opening windows include lockable handles, and all locks are insurance-approved.
Can I Choose Different Doors and Windows?
Yes we can supply custom size PVC-u doors and windows and aluminium profiles upon request.
Can I Have Internal Walls Inside?
Yes we can install partition walls to create separate internal areas. Their location can be agreed on site, and we can add internal or external doors as required.
What Heating Options Do You Recommend?
Our insulated buildings retain heat extremely well. For winter, we recommend an electric wall mounted or free standing heater as the most efficient and cost-effective solution.
How Long Does It Take?
Most garden buildings are built on site within 3–5 working days. Larger buildings may take slightly longer. Our teams work Monday to Friday and stay locally until the project is completed.
What Are the Payment Terms?
A 50% deposit is required to place an order. You will receive a receipt, order confirmation and installation date. The remaining 50% is due on completion. We accept bank transfer and most major debit or credit cards (excluding Amex).
